The Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association offers and exciting opportunity for the youth and adults in our community. Located at the boathouse on Ediz Hook in Port Angeles, OPRA is a non-Profit organization,  established in 2007, dedicated to teaching recreational and competitive rowing on the Olympic Peninsula.

Rowers experience fitness, teamwork, competition and fun in this program while also gaining solid rowing and valuable life skills. Our mission is to develop a community of technically skilled rowers in an environment that is first fun and nurtures the intrinsic motivation, patience, perseverance and accountability needed to be successful on the water and in life.

What can you do to support this unique and amazingly dynamic program?

OPRA relies on the generosity of donors, sponsors and members to do its work. We hope you'll join us in supporting our mission. OPRA is currently in the need for:

- A new boathouse to replace the previous one that was severely damaged during a storm

- Used 14 foot aluminum boat with outboard motor

- Support for coaching and equipment

- Program scholarship fund to support registration fees for students with financial  hardship

- Six ergometer machines for rowing practice off the water

This rowing program has more that tripled its youth membership in the past twelve months under the program leadership of coach Debby Swinford. We anticipate continuing strong growth as this program continues to build on its success.

Affordable fees, along with community donations and sponsors, combined with volunteer support make this rowing program accessible to all youth. Donations to the 501(c)3 program are tax deductible and formal acknowledgement of donations from indentified contributors will be posted.
